A live version of the classic "Date with a Vampyre" from the 2011 re-union tour. This was from the Sunday night show and was shot and recorded by Steve Godfrey from SG Productions.
The full US version of the clip courtesy of Brett Cabot.
We shot using 35mm film... Leo Sullivan was DOP... featured dancer was Jereldine Sijlbing at the time but is now my wife... I was director and art director.
Extra footage was shot someplace on the upper north shore ( the night club look) The actual shoot took place in a blue screen studio in Ultimo.
The online edit was done at Pro Image, editor was Rowan Davis.... At the time we made extensive use of the Pro Image edit suite. Me and Rowan worked for 36 hours straight on the edit over the course of one weekend.
According to stage manager Peter "Rossy" Ross. "Brett Cabot and his crew organised for the first day of this shoot to start around 9am which meant the band's crew had a 6am load-in at the Old Sydney Trade Union Club for this clip. We'd been touring pretty hard and it was already the third gig of the week. We worked through until about 5am and had a shoot the next day at the Caringbah Inn for most of the crowd stuff. Again after a late finish and a big show we got our reward... An overnight trip to Jindabyne for a show the next day... That was the 80s."
According to Brett Cabot, the clip's director, "The Casualty of Love clip was done during an all nighter on the rocks caves and cliffs of MacKenzies Beach just south of Bondi... What a night we had. The cops even turned up but didnt have a problem with us all playing back til dawn."
